HOW TO EMBRACE BEING A SUPER INTENSE PERSON... <3
When I was growing up, all I ever heard was...
"We feel LOVE towards our romantic partner, and we LIKE our friends".
Well... by the time I was 20, I was having very intense friendships, and I LOVED my friends so much!!
My friends and I were so close... so honest... so present in the conversation... and we lost ourselves in each other's eyes as we talked.
Well, this experience was way too intense for me...
Wasn't this intensity supposed to be reserved for romantic love?!!
.
The next thing I remember was me coming down with CRIPPLING SOCIAL ANXIETY with everyone... including my family and friends... :(
Whenever I tried to talk to someone... my heart would be beating so fast... my mind was totally blank... and I couldn't understand a word they were saying...
None of the therapists I talked to could help me...
They couldn't see what my problem was...
.
And then finally 5 years later, I bought an impulse plane ticket to Budapest, Hungary and found a SUPER INTENSE friend who was like me. <3<3<3
He helped me realize that...
1. It was OKAY to be an INTENSE person who loves people so much more than the norm...
2. By applying HUNGARIAN HONESTY, I could access my true self... which made my anxiety go down...
3. When I dared to LOVE PEOPLE and show them that I loved them... I no longer felt any fear!
Love & Honesty were STRONGER than fear!!
.
And so I started applying LOVE & HONESTY with everyone I met...
This enabled me to overcome my Social Anxiety and CONNECT with people again!
I found myself making friend after friend...
My friends were usually people who were just as intense as me. :)
I started feeling better and better about who I really am... an Intense, Empathic, Highly Sensitive Introvert who loves people very, very much. <3
.
And then one day, it dawned on me that my social anxiety symptoms hadn't been back for years...
In addition to being a Maternal Anxiety Coach, I decided to become a Social Anxiety Coach as well.
It turned out that many of my Social Anxiety Clients were also suffering from the 'Shame for being too Intense'.
And it was these intense clients who often moved on to work or volunteer as HELPING PROFESSIONALS like me!
It turns out that our intensity was something to be proud of!
It was one of our biggest strengths! <3
The world NEEDS us intense people who love people so much!
But first... we need to embrace our own intensity and dare to let it shine!
.
Let me know if you'd like me to help you embrace your personality and who you really are... overcome your social anxiety... and achieve your social and life dreams! :)
To intense people...
We rock!! <3
