WHY BECOMING A SOCIAL ANXIETY COACH WAS THE "LAST" THING I WANTED TO DO
I didn't set out to be a Social Anxiety Coach.
In fact, I refused to utter the words "social anxiety' from 22 to 40 years old.
I found my solution to my crippling social anxiety at 26 without saying the words "social anxiety" at all...
And I was worried that if I ever said these words again... my social anxiety would come back.
.
Then, in my 30's, I decided to become a "Happiness Coach for Mothers".
I researched everything I possibly could about "happiness for mothers"... while avoiding the word "anxiety" as much as I could. lol
(I refused to acknowledge that what I had just experienced was actually postpartum anxiety.)
But by the end of my research, it was becoming crystal clear that becoming happy and overcoming anxiety & depression was a very similar process.
And so I became an Anxiety & Depression Coach for mothers.
Now that I was helping mothers with panic-based anxieties... I began thinking about my own crippling Social Anxiety from over a decade before...
.
And then one day, I suddenly felt compelled to make a "coming out" video telling my social anxiety story to the world. <3
And before long, I was helping everyone overcome crippling social anxiety... not just mothers.
.
I have to say... That first year of social anxiety coaching was one of the most difficult years of my life...
Facing all of my old demons...
Being potentially triggered at every turn...
But my process was working... and my clients were overcoming their social anxiety too!! <3
And by the end of that year, I faced my biggest fear of all... I met all my friends in person or on the phone and I told them... "I used to have crippling social anxiety..."
And I told them my whole story.
A wave of peace came over me...
I had now completely finished my journey.
Because the very final stage of recovery is when we are able to both privately and publicly own our whole story of recovery... and help other people recover as well. <3
.
Let me know if you'd like me to help you overcome your social anxiety.
To all of our recoveries...
